Palak Paratha With Cucumber Salad - with detail photo and video recipes. Healthy protein pack recipe which satisfies our taste buds. Usually, palak paratha is prepared by chopping the palak into the wheat flour but, you may feel the raw smell while eating. Here I blanched the palak before making the paratha. This makes the paratha to look in green color and gives the perfect taste without the palak raw smell.

It's very challenging to make the healthy lunch or tiffin in our busy schedule but, here is a simple, tasty with full of nutrients paratha recipe which is prepared from green fresh leaves of palak. One can prepare this dough overnight and can make freshly in the early mornings. This also gives the same taste and parathas. The taste of this parathas makes your child ask again and again.

 For this recipe, one should check and clean the palak beforehand to remove impurities and insects. Then blanch the palak and put in cool water, this makes us retain its green color. Then blend the palak by adding the spices like green chili, garlic cloves, cumin seeds and mixed along with sesame seeds on top. Even these are very healthy ingredients.

Garlic is highly nutritious but very low in calories. It helps to reduce body cholesterol and may lower the risk of heart diseases. Green Chilli is a rich source of vitamin C and eating it helps in keeping the skin healthy and glowing. Using green chili instead of red chili powder on regular basis is good for health and skin. The use of Cumin Seeds in the recipes helps us to promotes digestion as well as weight loss and fat reduction. Sesame Seeds are rich in magnesium that prevent hypertension. And it also contains fiber, Iron and phosphorus that helps boost energy levels. Finally, the main ingredient Spinach ( Palak ) is also very nutritious and healthy which is rich in calcium.

For this recipe, cucumber onion raita is perfect combination to serve.

Ingredients:


  • Palak ( Spinach ) - 6 Bunches
  • Green Chillies - 6
  • Garlic Cloves - 20
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Sesame Seeds - 4 Tbsps.
  • Coriander leaves 
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp.
  • Wheat Flour - 2.5 cups
  • Salt - As Required

Preparation:


  • Firstly check and clean palak.
  • Then add water and bring to boil.
  • When water gets a boil to add cleaned palak and blanch.
  • Remove the blanched palak and add to cool water.
  • When blanched palak is completely cool remove and add to blender.
  • Now add chopped green chilies, garlic cloves, cumin seeds, and blend to smooth puree.
  • Now add this puree with wheat flour along with sesame seeds, oil, coriander seeds, and salt.
  • Mix well and knead just like chapathi dough.
  • Rest for about 15 minutes and can use for instant or can refrigerate overnight in airtight container.
  • Now take small ball size palak paratha dough and dust with wheat flour.
  • Now slowly roll and flatten to a round shape.
  • Take the rolled palak paratha on a hot pan.
  • By adding oil/ghee cook both sides.
  • That's its hot palak paratha is ready.

Cucumber Onion Raita Preparation:

  • Cucumber - 1
  • Onion - 1
  • Curd - 2 Cups
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Salt - As Required
  • Green Chillies - 1
  • Mix All The Ingredients and Serve with Palak Paratha.
