Chikoo Laddu | Sapota Laddu | Special Desi Recipes

Chikoo Laddu | Sapota Ladoo | Sapodilla Laddu - is another unique sweet recipe which tastes super. Healthy and tasty, energy provider laddu with sapodilla, Rava, and jaggery. Usually, Rava laddu is done with semolina but, this sapota Rava laddu is different and tasty laddu.

Manikara Zapota, commonly know as sapodilla, sapota, chikoo, naseberry, nispero. Different names for a single fruit. The sweet-tasting fruit possesses a delicate characteristic aroma while passing through in the market. The sweet and nice aroma from sapodilla tempts us to buy very healthy and energetic fruit.

Usually, sapota can be eaten peeled and sliced. Even we use to eat the same or sapota milkshake. One fine day I got thought of why don't we do Rava laddu with sapota. Then I starting doing sapota Rava laddu. The taste of the laddu is awesome, delicious, and tastier than the regular Rava laddu. The sweet malty flavor with a touch of Rava and dry fruits...wah super combination laddu. From that day we staring doing laddu whenever we get sapota.

Sapodilla is rich in nutrients, and it is a powerhouse of Vitamin A, E, and C.With all these one can get amazing healthy skin. Sapota boosts the immune system. Chikoo is very effective in maintaining heart health and the circulatory system.

Finally, I want to highlight some of my sweet recipes.

Video Recipe Of Chikoo Rava Laddu


Ingredients:

  • Sapota / Chikoo / Sapodilla - 160 g
  • Rava / Semolina - 80 g
  • Jaggery - 40 g 
  • Almonds - 2 Tbsps.
  • Cashews - 1 Tbsp.
  • Raisins - 1 Tbsp.
  • Ghee - 2 Tbsps.
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp.
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Water - 1/2 Cup

Preparation:

  • In a bowl add jaggery along with water and allow the jaggery to melt.
  • In the meantime, add ghee along with oil and add all the dry fruits and roast on medium flame till the nut are a light brown color and releases aroma.
  • When the nut are done, remove and keep aside.
  • In the same pan add Rava / Semolina and roast well till the rave releases a nice aroma and it changes color.
  • When done remove and keep aside.
  • Now Blend the sapota to the smooth paste.
  • Add this sapota paste to the pan and cook till it become thick and releases an aroma.
  • When done add filtered jaggery water and mix well.
  • Mix and cook until it changes color and becomes thick.
  • Now add cardamom powder, nuts, and rave and mix well.
  • Cook till it leaves the pan.
  • When done remove and keep aside till it becomes warm.
  • When the sapota rave mixture is warm, prepare the laddu out of the mixture and enjoy.
