Junnu | Kharvas | Ginnu | Posu | Milk Pudding - Is One Of The Tasty Mouth Melting Milk dessert. Though Different Name But The Recipe Is One.Junnu Paalu( Telugu ) Is Also Called As Colostrum Milk.This Milk Is The One That a Cow Produces For The First Few Days After It Delivers A Calf.

It Has Many Benefits, Full Of Nutrients & Proteins.Colostrum Milk Is Rich In Vitamin-A And Protects Against Infection And Allergies.This Milk Should Be cooked Well Or Boiled Before Consuming.One Should Not Take Raw Milk Before Cooking or Boiling.

I Did This Kharvas | Junnu With Fresh Colostrum Milk.One Can Do This Even With Colostrum Powder Which Is Available In Market.But, Using Fresh Milk Will Give More Benefits.

If The Colostrum Milk Is Very Thick, Use Some Regular Milk And Cook This Junnu.I Didnt Add Regular Milk In My Recipe.I Used Jaggery, Cardamom Powder, Black Pepper Powder & Milk.Mix The Jaggery and Milk Till The Jaggery Is Completely Dissolves In The Milk.Then Strain The Diluted Milk And Add It To Deep Bowl. Steam The Milk In Idli Cooker For About 30 - 40 Minutes.Or EVen Can Use Pressure Cooker Or Rice Cooker.

Steam Just Like How We Steam The Idlis. When Done Refrigerate And Serve it Chilled.

  • Cardamom Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Black Pepper Powder - 1 1/2 Tsps.

Preparation:

  • Add Jaggery To A Bowl.
  • Then Add Colostrum Milk, Cardamom Powder, Black Pepper Powder And Mix Well.
  • Mix Well Till The Jaggery Melts Completely.
  • Now Strain The Diluted Jaggery Colostrum Milk.
  • Pour This Milk In Deep Bowl.
  • Now By Using Idli Cooker/ Pressure Cooker/ Rice Cooker .
  • Place A Steamer Place And Add Sufficient Water.
  • Now Put This Milk Bowl And Steam Just Like How We Steam Idlis
  • Steam For About 30 - 40 Minutes.First 5 Minutes on High Flame, Rest on Medium Flame.
  • Check If Done By Using Spoon, Knife or Tooth Pick.
  • That Should Be Neat.

  • If The Colostrum Milk Is Too Thick, Add Regular Milk.
  • Strain All The Impurities.
  • Steam Till All The Water Evaporated And Pudding Is Soft.
  • Refrigerate Then Serve.
