 Ugadi Pachadi Is One Of The Special Food Of This Auspicious Day.It Is Notable From Past As It Contain 6 Flavors That Resembles To Our Life. The Six Flavors Are Sour, Sweet, Tangy, Bitter, Spicy & Salt.

The 6 Different Tastes That Correspond To The Taste And Emotions Are:
  • Raw Mango - Tanginess ( Surprises )
  • Tamarind - Sour- Sweet ( Sarcastic, Unpleasantness )
  • Jaggery - Sweet ( Happiness )
  • Salt - Salty ( Fear )
  • Red Chilli Powder - Spicy ( Anger )
  • Neem Flowers - Bitter ( Sadness )
As The Ugadi Pachadi Contains 6  Different Taste, It Is Also Call Symbol Of Life. As Life Is Mixture Of Pain, Surprise, Joy, Anger, Fear & Sadness.One Should Lead This New Year Mixing All Flavors With Equal Balance.

Ingredients :

  • Tamarind - 50 g
  • Jaggery - 200 g
  • Raw Mango - 3 Tbsps. Chopped
  • Fresh Coconut - 3 Tbsps. Chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Salt - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Ajwain - 1 Tsp.
  • Putnalu / Roasted Chana Dal - 2 Tbsps.
  • Neem Flower - 1 Tbsp.

Preparation:

  • Clean And Soak Tamarind In Water For About 30 Minutes Or Till Tamarind Becomes Soft.
  • Soak Jaggey In Water And Mix Well Till Jaggery Completely Dissolves In Water 
  • Now Filter The Jaggery Water .
  • Now Extract Juice From Tamarind And Filter.
  • Add Jaggery Water, Tamarind Water & Water As Per Sourness Of Tamarind.
  • Now Add Ajwain, Neem Flower, Raw Mango, Fresh Coconut, Red Chilli Powder, Salt & Putnalu.
  • Note : Fresh Coconut, Ajwain & Putnalu Are Optional.These Are Added For More Tasty While Having The Recipe.
  • Mix Well.
  • And Serve & Enjoy On This Ugadi.

Step by Step Recipe With Photo
