Puran Poli Is Another Indian Sweet Flat Bread Recipe Done On Ugadi.In This We Use Chana Dal And Jaggery.This Is The Special Recipe Where Puran Mixture Is Surrounded By Wheat & All Purpose Flour. Then This Is Rolled And Flatten Like Chapathi.
Ingredients:
- Wheat Flour - 200 g ( 1 Big Cup )
- All Purpose Flour - 100 g ( 1 Small Cup )
- Jaggery - 300 g
- Chana Dal - 150 g
- Nutmeg - Small Piece
- Cardamom - 8
- Sugar - 1 Tbsp.
- Salt - 1 Tsp.
- Oil - 2 Tbsps.
Preparation:
Dough Preparation:
- In One Bowl Add Wheat Flour, All Purpose Flour, Sugar, Salt & Oil.
- Mix Well.
- Add Water And Mix Like Chapathi Dough.
- Soft Dough And Rest it For 30 Minutes.
Jaggery Syrup Preparation:
- In Pan Add Jaggery And Water.
- Mix Well Till The Jaggery Dissolves Completely.
- Then Filter The Jaggery Mixture.
Cooking Dal :
- In Bowl, Add Water.
- Close And Boil .
- When Water Gets Boil Add Cleaned Chana Dal And Bring To Boil.
- Close And Bring To Boil.
- When Water Gets Boil, Open And Cook Till The Dal Is Smashed On Fingers.
- When Done, Filter And Separate The Dal and Water.
- Let The Dal Becomes Cool.
- Keep The Dal Water Aside For Later Use.
- When Dal Was Cooled, Add To Blender.
- Add Nutmeg, Cardamoms & Blend To Fine Paste.
Puran Mixture Preparation:
- Now Put This Puran Mixture In Pan And Add Jaggery Syrup.
- Mix Well.
- Smash All The Dal.
- Cook Till Dal Becomes Thick.
- Make Small, Small Balls Out Of The Mixture And Keep Aside.
Puran Poli Preparation:
- Now Take The chapathi Dough & Make Small Balls Out Of The Dough.
- Note: Dough And Puran Mixture Should Be Equal.
- With Finger, Press & Stretch The Dough.
- Now Keep The Puram Mixture Into The Dough.
- Cover Completely.
- Dust With Wheat Flour.
- Roll & Flatten The Dough To Desire Round Shape.
- Put This On Hot Pan.
- Add Oil / Ghee.
- Flip Over And Again Add Oil / Ghee.
- Cook Both Sides.
- Thats Its Puran Poli Is Ready To Serve.
