Tomato Charu- With a detail photo and video recipe.Easy, tasty and aromatic recipe. They are different ways tomato charu, here I am sharing one among them. Tomato rasam is also called as charu in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana and saaru in Karnataka.
To prepare charu they are different ways either by blanching the tomatoes or by chopping the tomatoes or even by blending the tomatoes and then cooking them. Different ways give different tastes. Now I am sharing the tomato charu by blanching the tomatoes along with tamarind and then blending them into a smooth puree. This recipe goes very well with steamed rice along with any fry curry.

Ingredients:
- Tomatoes - 5 big
- Tamarind - 30 g
- Water - 2 Glasses Or As Required
- Oil - 4 Tbsps.
- Mustard Seeds - 1/2 Tsp.
- Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp.
- Green Chillies - 4
- Curry Leaves
- Crushed Garlic - 1 Tbsp.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 th tsp.
- Coriander Leaves
- Onion - 1 Big
Preparation:
- Clean the tomatoes.
- Then remove the hard part and cut X.
- Add tamarind along with water and boil 3 minutes.
- When done remove tomatoes and peel the skin.
- Blend the tomatoes to smooth puree and filter.
- Extract the juice from tamarind, filter and add to the tomato puree.
- Now do the tempering and add to tomato charu.
- In a pan add oil, then add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- When seeds splutter add green chilies, curry leaves, crushed garlic and saute well.
- When garlic leaves aroma to add turmeric powder and add to tomato charu.
- Also add coriander leaves, onions and mix well.
- Serve tomato charu with steamed rice along with any fry curry.
