Green Peas Mint Pulao - with detail recipe of easy, tasty and healthy rice recipe with green peas and mint. The aromatic mint leaves along with colorful green peas makes the dish pleasant and hungry look. Green peas are easy way to add flavor, color loaded with vitamins and nutrients.

Green Peas or Garden Peas are the small spherical seeds that come from pods produced by Pisum Sativum plant.Each pod had several number of seeds. These green peas are include in human diet for hundred of years because of its nutritional value. Dry green peas are readily available whole year in the market but, using the green peas rather than dry is more beneficial. Seasonal seeds had more health benefits.

Small seeds yet many benefits it improves digestion,high in protein,fight Inflammation, prevent premature ageing, lower bad cholesterol,and prevent memory loss.It had more percentage of Vitamin C with Zero cholesterol.

And the other main ingredient in this recipe is mint leaves. The pleasant smell mint leaves are very helpful to skin, body and mental health.Adding peppermint in the morning detox water has a majority of health benefits like boosting the immune system, promotes healthy skin and hair, pain and indigestion relief and promotes blood circulation. Just the same during the mint water before going to bed gives undisturbed sleep whole night.Adding in curry or in rice, any form of mint leaves is beneficial.

Here am sharing the recipe of green peas mint pulao. It can serve along with dal rasam, tomato gravy or aloo korma. Easy, tasty and healthy rice recipe. In my video I added all the biryani masala as whole but, one can tie the masala in cloth and drop in the water to get the flavors.

Ingredients:

  • Basmati Rice - 2 Cups ( 400 g)
  • Water - 3 3/4 cups
  • Ghee - 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Oil - 3 Tbsps.
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Cloves - 3
  • Cinnamon - 2 Inches
  • Shahjeera - 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Bay Leaves - 3
  • Dagad Phool | Biryani Puvvu 
  • Mace - 1 Tbsp.
  • Nutmeg Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Kapok Buds - 3
  • Star Anise - 1
  • Peppercorns - 6
  • Onion - 1
  • Green Chillies -4
  • Curry Leaves
  • Mint Leaves - 3 Bunches
  • Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Kasoori Methi - 1 Tbsp.
  • Salt - As Require
  • Coriander Leaves

Preparation:

  • In bowl take basmati rice and rinse with water and clean.
  • Then add water and soak the rice for about 20 minutes.
  • In pan add ghee and oil.
  • When ghee melts add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, shahjeera, cumin seeds, kapok buds, mace, star anise,nutmeg powder, peppercorns. bay leaves and dagad phool.
  • Mix well and saute.
  • The add onions, green chilies along with salt and mix well.
  • Saute for about 2 Minutes then add curry leaves, kasoori methi and mint leaves.
  • Mix well and saute.
  • Mint leaves releases water.
  • Now add green peas, ginger garlic paste and saute for about 5 Minutes.
  • When it releases aroma add water and bring the water to get boil.
  • When done add soaked rice along with garam masala and mix well.
  • Bring again the water to boil.
  • When water gets boil, close and cook the rice for about 5 Minutes.
  • After 5 Minutes Mix and close and simmer for about 15 minutes or till the rice gets cooked completely.
  • Finally add coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve hot with tomato gravy or tomato rasam or aloo korma.
