Aloo Peas Curry - with detail photo and video recipe.Healthy, seasonal and fresh green peas aloo curry recipe. Aloo Matar is one of the easy and tasty curries that goes well with poori, naan or chapati or even with plain curry. Every household has its own way of cooking the aloo matar but, this recipe is for the one who doesn't like to eat peas on its whole. Another popular name of this recipe is matar nimona, one of the famous UP style matar nimona recipes.

In this recipe, I blend the peas to smooth paste and added to the gravy. This way not only gives taste and healthy but also makes the haters to eat this super tasty aloo peas curry.

Ingredients:


  • Aloo ( Potatoes )- 1 Cup Or 3
  • Green Peas - 1 Cup
  • Green Chillies - 8
  • Oil - 4 Tbsp.
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Cumin Seeds - 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Onions - 1 Big
  • Green Chilli - 1
  • Curry Leaves
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Kasoori Methi - 1 Tbsp.
  • Salt - As Required
  • Coriander Leaves

For Tempering:

  • Oil - 1 Tbsp.
  • Dry Red Chillies - 2
  • Ginger Julienne - 1 Tbsp.
  • Garlic - 1 Tbsp.
  • Curry Leaves

Preparation:

  • In a blender add green peas and chili and blend to smooth paste.
  • In a pan add oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, onions, and salt.
  • Mix well and saute.
  • When color changes, add green chilies, curry leaves and mix well.
  • Now add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder and saute well.
  • When it releases aroma add green peas chili paste and saute.
  • Saute for about 1 minute and add aloo and mix well.
  • Then add water and mix well.
  • Close and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes it releases oil.
  • Now add kasoori methi, garam masala powder, and coriander powder and mix well.
  • Mix well and close and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • In the meantime add oil, dry red chilies, ginger julienne, and garlic and mix well.
  • When the tempering is releasing aroma.
  • Add this tempering into the curry along with coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Serve this hot with poori | naan, and chapati.
