Indian Gooseberry Is Also Called As Amla/Usirikaya. It Is A wonder Fruit with Full of Vitamins .Why To Use Lemon /Tamarind, If We Have Healthy Fruit With Of Same Taste. The Main Source Of Amla Is Vitamin C & Eating It Helps In Keeping Your Skin Healthy And Glowing.

Amla Rice / Gooseberry Rice / Usirikaya Rice / Usirikaya Pulihora Is one Of The Easy Rice Dish If You Have Ready Made Amla/Gooseberry Paste. Pulihora Means Usually We Add Lemon Juice or Tamarind Juice. This Is One Of The Special Dish Done With Amla Paste Instead of Lemon Juice Or Tamarind Juice.

Don’t Worry About how to prepare Alma Paste. I Even Uploaded the Recipe for Amla/Gooseberry Paste Preparation 



Ingredients:

  • Amla Paste – 2 ½ tbsp.
  • Peanuts – 2 Tbsp.
  • Chana Dal – 1 Tbsp.
  • Urad Dal – 1 Tbsp.
  • Red Chillies – 2
  • Green Chillies – 2 Chopped
  • Chopped Onions – 1 Big
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt – As Required
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 ½ Tsp.
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Cooked Rice – 200grams

Preparation:

  • Roast Peanuts Till It Changes Colour
  • The Add Chana Dal And Urad Dal Till You Get Nice Aroma
  • Add Redchillies and Green Chillies
  • Then Add Chopped Onions With Salt And Cook Till It Become Golden Brown Colour.
  • When Onions Changes Colour Add Curry Leaves And Cook
  • Later Add Ginger Garlic Paste And Cook Till Raw Smell Leaves
  • Then Add Stored Amla Paste and Turmeric Powder and Saute Well Till Oil releases
  • Add Cooked Rice And Mix Well
  • Cook Till Rice Is Completely Heated Then Add Fresh Coriander Leaves And Mix Well
  • Amla Rice / Gooseberry Rice / Usirikaya Annam / Usirikaya Pulihora Is ready to serve.

Note :


  • Prepare Amla Paste On Season And Store In Fridge.
  • In Amla Paste Salt Should Be As Required.
  • Store Amla /Gooseberry Paste In Air Tight Container.
  • Cook Rice By Adding 1/4th Less Water And With Oil.
  • Soak Rice Before 30mins In water.
