For Chana Dal Chicken Masala, First We Need To Pressure Cook The Chana Dal For 80 %.Then Have To Prepare The Dry Coconut Masala Powder.Adding Coconut Masala Gives Very Delicious Taste When We Have This With Roti / Naan. 

Marinate The Chicken And Rest It For Minimum 1 Hour Or Maximum Overnight.If One Cannot Marinate Overnight, Can Refrigerate The Marinated Chicken For 1 Hour.

Marination Helps The Chicken To Taste Superb Juicy And Gives Very Tender Chicken.

Ingredients:

Dry Coconut Masala Ingredients:

  • Dry Coconut - 30 g
  • Cloves - 10
  • Cardamom - 3
  • Cinnamon - 1 Inch
  • Shahjeera - 1 Tsp.
  • Pepper Corns - 8

Main Chana Dal Masala Ingredients:

  • Chana Dal - 200 g
  • Chicken - 250 g
  • Green Chillies - 3 Chopped
  • Onion - 1 Chopped
  • Curry Leaves
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Salt - As Required
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Kasoori Methi - 1 Tsp.
  • Water - As Required
  • Coriander leaves 

Marination Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 250 g
  • Red Chilli powder - 2 Tbsps.
  • Salt - As Required
  • Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 1/2 Tbsps.
  • Lemon Juice - 1 Tbsp.

Preparation :

Dry Coconut Masala Preparation:

  • In Blender Add Dry Coconut, Cloves, Cardamom, Cinnamon & Shahjeera.
  • Blend To Fine Powder & Keep Aside.

Marination Preparation:

  • Firstly Clean The Chicken.
  • Then Add Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder. Ginger Garlic Paste, Salt & Lemon Juice.
  • Mix Well And Keep Aside At least For 1 Hour.

  • In Pan Add Oil.
  • Then Add Green Chilies, Onions With Salt.
  • Saute Well For About 5 Minutes.
  • Then Add Curry Leaves And Saute.
  • Then Add Turmeric Powder & Ginger Garlic Paste And Mix Well.
  • Cook Well Till Ginger Garlic Paste Leaves Raw Smell.
  • Then Add Dry Coconut Masala Powder And Saute Well Till Oil Releases.
  • Then Add Marinated Chicken And Saute Well Till Chicken Changes Colour.
  • Then Add Pressured Cooked Chana Dal And Mix Well.
  • Then Add Red Chilli Powder And Salt If Needed.
  • Close And Cook For About 10 Minutes.
  • Check If Chicken Is Cooked.
  • Then Mix And Add Cumin powder, Coriander Powder, Kasoori Methi & Water.
  • Mix Well.Again Close & Cook For About 10 Minutes.
  • Chicken Releases Oil.
  • Mix Well & Add Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves And Mix Well.
