Patra Bajia Recipe | Taro Leaves & Gram Flour Wraps Recipe | Chamaaku badilu | Spicy Steamed Taro Leaves Rolls

Patra Bajia - With Detail Photo And Video Recipe. Patra Bajia Is One Of The Recipe Done With Arbi Leaves|Taro Leaves | Chamaku. These Are Often Found Leaves or One Can Plant At One's Home In Small Pot. Many Health Benefits With These Leaves.

Patra Bajia Is Done With Gram Flour. Its One Of The Spicy Steamed Taro Leaves Rolls / Wraps. Clean And Wash The Taro Leaves Very Finely, These Leaf Is Completely Filled With Spice Mixed Gram Flour And Then Slowly Rolled And Steamed To Cook.

Then Steamed Rolls Are Chopped into Pieces And Seasoned With Onion Masala.This Recipe Goes Well Either With Rice Or With Chapathi, Dosa, Naan Etc.

Ingredients:

Besan Masala Ingredients:

  • Taro Leaves | Arbi Leaves | Chamaaku - 10
  • Besan | Gram Flour - 1 Cup
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 1/2 Tsps.
  • Salt - As Required
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp.

Patra Bajia Ingredients:

  • Oil - 4 to 5 Tbsps.
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
  • Onions - 2 Big Chopped
  • Salt - As Required
  • Curry Leaves
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Coriander Leaves

Preparation:

Besan/ Gram Flour Masala Preparation:

  • In Bowl Add Besan, Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Salt And Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • Add Water And Mix Well.
  • Mix Well Like Thick Flowing Consistency.
  • Keep Aside.

Steamin Process:

  • Take One Leaf And Fill With Besan Masala And Spread All Over.
  • Slowly Roll The Leaf Till End.
  • Steam For About 15 Minutes Either In Steamer Or In Idli Cooker.
  • ( Steam On High Flame For First 5 Minutes Then On Low Flame For Rest Of The Minutes)
  • Remove And Cut Them Into Pieces.

Patra Bajia Preparation:

  • In Pan Add Oil.
  • Add Mustard Seeds And Cumin Seeds.
  • When They Splutter Add Chopped Onions With Salt And Mix Well. 
  • Saute Till Onions Becomes Light Brown Colour.
  • Then Add Curry Leaves, Turmeric Powder And Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • Saute Well Till Everything Is Cooked Well And Till Raw Smell Leaves.
  • Then Add Red Chilli Powder And Garam Masala Powder And Mix Well.
  • When Everything Is Cooked Well Add Steamed Taro Leaves Rolls And Mix Well.
  • Close And Simmer For About 10 Minutes.
  • Then Add Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves And Mix Well.

Detail Recipe Of Patra Bajia With Photo

  • Then Add Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves And Mix Well.
