The Main Ingredients Used in This Dish Is Toor Dal And Tamarind Along With Mixed Vegetables. One Can Choose Any Other Vegetables Other Than This. Basic Pappu Chaaru Is Done With Drumsticks / Radish / Cucumber. If We Add More Vegetables To GIve More Richness To The Recipe Gives Super Taste And Delicious.

Ingredients:
- Toor Dal | Kandi Pappu - 150 g
- Oil - 4 Tbsps.
- Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp.
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
- Fenugreek Seeds - 1 Tsp.
- Onion - 1 Big Chopped
- Small Onions ( Sambar Onions ) - 7
- Green Chillies - 5 Chopped
- Curry Leaves
- Crushed Garlic - 1 Tbsp.
- Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
- Egg Plant ( Brinjal ) - 2
- Tomatoes - 3
- Potatoes - 2
- Carrots - 2
- Drumstick - 1 Long
- Water - As Required
- Cumin Powder - 1 Tsp.
- Salt - As Required
- Sugar - 1 Tsp.
- Tamarind - 50 g
- Coriander Leaves
Preparation:
- Clean And Soak Tamarind In Water, 30 Minutes Before Cooking.
- Clean And Add Toor Dal / Kandi Pappu To Pressure Cooker.
- Then Add Turmeric Powder, Oil And Water.
- Mix Well And Pressure Cook FOr 5 Whistles.
- In Pan Add Oil.
- Then Add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds, And Fenugreek Seeds.
- When They Splutter Add Chopped Onions, Small Onions Along With Salt.
- Saute 2 Minutes.
- Then Add Green Chillies And Saute 2 Minutes.
- Then Add Curry Leaves, Crushed Garlic, And Turmeric Powder.
- Mix Well And Saute Till Garlic Turns Light Brown Colour.
- Then Add Vegetables Like Brinjal, Potatoes, Carrots, Tomatoes, And Drumstick.
- Add Salt And 2 Cups Of Water. Mix Well.
- Close And Cook For About 10 Minutes.
- Cook All Veggies Of 90 Percent.
- Then Remove Pressure And Mix Dal To Very Smooth.
- Then Extract Juice From Soaked Tamrind And Add To Dal.
- Mix Well Without Any Lumps.
- Add This Tamarind Dal To Cooked Veggies With Extra Water ( Water As Per Consistency )
- Note: Pappu Chaaru Will Be in Flowing Consistency Just Like Water.
- Then Add Cumin Powder, Salt, And Sugar.
- Mix Well And Cook On High Flame Till It Gets Boil.
- Then Close And Simmer For About 15 Minutes.
- After 15 Minutes It Releases Oil.
- Finally, Add Freshly Chopped Coriander Leaves And Serve Hot Either With Rice Or With Ildi.
