Chicken Tikka Biryani | Spicy And Flavourful Chicken Biryani | Special Desi Recipes

Chicken Tikka Biryani - with detail photo and video recipe.Spicy and flavourful biryani with tikka masala." Biryani " the word itself tempt the people who know the biryani taste. Biryani is a mixed rice dish. Many varieties of biryanis are there but this chicken tikka biryani is special with full of flavors and spiciness.

Here I used basmati rice, Which is long grained aromatic rice which is traditionally from Indian-Subcontinent. High-quality basmati rice will give tasty and flavor biryani. Firstly clean and marinate the chicken with all the spices and rest at least for 30 minutes or overnight. Marinating the chicken gives soft, tender and juicy chicken in the biryani. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes. Soaking the rice in water will give very long, free rice after cooking.

For Chicken Tikka Biryani, grill the chicken beforehand and cook the chicken tikka masala curry and layer the biryani with fried onions, mint leaves, and coriander leaves.

To make fried or brown onions at home is easy.No need of buying the fried onions in the supermarket. Just chop the onions very finely and sprinkle some salt along with corn flour. Then deep fry the onions till brown color.

Chicken Marination Ingredients :

  • Chicken - 500 g
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsp.
  • Salt - 1 Tsp.
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Kasoori Methi Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Lemon Juice - 1/2 Lemon Or 2 Tbsps.
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp.
  • Black Salt - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Curd / Yogurt - 180 g

Cooking Rice Ingredients :

  • Rice - 250 g
  • Salt - 1 Tsp.
  • Oil - 1 Tsp.
  • Clove - 5
  • Cardamom - 3
  • Cinnamon - 1 Inch
  • Shahjeera - 1 Tsp.
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Mace 
  • Nutmeg Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Kapok Buds - 2
  • Bay Leaves - 2
  • Biryani Flower - Few.
  • Star Anise - 2

Chicken Tikka Masala Ingredient:

  • Oil - 2 Tbsps.
  • Onion - 1
  • Green Chillies - 3
  • Salt - As Required
  • Curry Leaves
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Tomatoes - 3
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsp.
  • Coriander Powder - 1/2 Tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Cumin Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Tikka Masala 
  • Water - 1/4th Cup
  • Kasoori Methi Powder - 1/4th Tsp.

Chicken Tikka Biryani Ingredients:

  • Ghee 
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Mint Leaves
  • Fried Onions
  • Saffron Water

Preparation

Marination Preparation:

  • In a Bowl Add Curd, Red Chilli Powder, Salt, Chaat Masala, Turmeric Powder, Kasoori Methi Powder, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder, Garam Masala Powder, Lemon Juice and Oil.
  • Mix well and add boneless chicken and marinate at least for 30 minutes or for about 1 Hour.
  • After marination insert into skewer and grill for about 20 minutes ( Turn In-Between )

Cooking Rice Preparation:

  • In another bowl, Add basmati rice along with water and soak for about 30 minutes.
  • Then in pan add water and all the biryani masala ingredients, salt and mix well.
  • Bring water to boil and add soaked rice and cook till the rice is cooked 90 percent.
  • Strain the water and keep the cooked rice aside.

Cooking Chicken Tikka Masala:

  • In a pan add oil, then add onions, green chilies along with salt and mix well.
  • Then add curry leaves, ginger garlic paste, and turmeric powder and mix well.
  • When it releases the aroma, add leftover tikka masala along with water and mix well.
  • Then add cooked chicken tikka and mix well.
  • Close and simmer for about 10 minutes.
  • It releases the oil, remove and keep aside.

Cooking Chicken Tikka Biryani:

  • In a deep heavy pan, brush ghee.
  • Then Layer the biryani with chicken tikka masala, fried onions, mint and coriander leaves.
  • Then layer with cooked rice and add saffron water and ghee.
  • Again repeat the same procedure, layer with chicken tikka masala, coriander and mint leaves along with ghee and saffron water.
  • Close and simmer for about 15 minutes.
  • After 15 Minutes, serve hot with raita or the biryani itself.
