Refreshing Summer Drinks - With detailed photo and video recipes. Summer is the best time to load up on many refreshing beverages that not only beat the scorching heat and reduces our thirst but also rejuvenate the body instantly. check out the recipe below for fresh summer drinks packed with fresh fruits and herbs along with spices that would keep our bodies in balance.


Summer is hot and we need to hydrate ourselves with drinks. It also means a happy time with good sunshine. Enjoy the happy time with refreshing, healthy, and chilled drinks to beat this hot sun. Drinks not only mean cool drinks, but we also need to have water-related fruits or vegetables to hydrate. In this recipe, I used mint-based drinks as the mint provides a refreshing, burst of flavor and also acts as a good relaxant.


Mint leaves help for digestion and soothes the stomach instantly, and it also does wonder about stomach-related problems. It is also beneficial for patients suffering from IBS ( Irritable Bowel Syndrome ). It helps the muscles in the stomach relax and promotes overall digestion.

And the use of ginger in the drinks helps to improve stomach performance and digestion. Ginger helps to treat common digestive troubles like bloating, indigestion, etc. Ginger in any form is useful for the body and mind. It relieves stress and protects skin against infections.

In mint- ginger lemonade I used sabja seeds. Sabja seeds are a good source of minerals and an instant coolant. Sabja seeds are most nutritious when soaked in water and consumed. They begin to swell as soon as it touches the water, with a translucent white film coating each black seeds. and they become twice their size.

Sabja seeds had plenty of benefits for health and as well as for the body. They are great as a garnish for drinks, desserts, or even with plain water. These are used for weight loss recipes. Sabja seeds are also considered to be good for type 2 diabetics as it is known to keep a check on blood sugar levels.

I used these sabja seeds in mint- ginger lemon juice.

And finally the two more drinks with fresh curd/yogurt with water. Lassi can be sweet or salt. Masala Chaas and sweet lassi are two different drinks done with curd/yogurt with spices and fresh herbs.

Masala Chaas Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • Mint Leaves - 1/4th Cup
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/4th Cup
  • Ginger - 1 Tbsp.
  • Green Chilli - 1 Tbsp.
  • Cumin Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Black Salt - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Salt - 1 Tsp.
  • Chilled Curd - 1 Cup
  • Chilled Water - 1 Cup
  • Chaat Masala Powder - 1/4th Tsp.

Preparation:

  • In a blender all ingredients except water and blend to smooth.
  • Then add sufficient water and salt.
  • Mix well and serve chill.

Watermelon - Pomegranate Juice:

Ingredients:

  • Watermelon - 1 Cup
  • Pomegranate Seeds - 1 Cup
  • Cardamom - 3
  • Palm Sugar Or Sugar - 1 Tbsp. Or As Required
  • Lemon Juice - 1/2 Lemon Or 3 Tbsps.
  • Water - 1/2 Cup

Preparation:

  • In a blender add all the ingredients except water and lemon juice.
  • Then filter the juice and add lemon juice and water.
  • Adjust sugar if needed.
  • Serve Chill.

Sweet Lassi:

Ingredients:

  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Water - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 6 Tbsps.
  • Cardamom - 4
  • Cashew - 1 Tbsp.
  • Almond - 1 Tbsp.
  • Strand of Saffron 

Preparation:

  • In a blender add sugar and cardamoms.
  • Blend to a fine powder and add curd and blend again to smooth.
  • Now add water, cashews, almonds, and strands of saffron and mix well.
  • Serve Chill.

Mint - Ginger Lemon Juice:

Ingredients:

  • Mint - 10 to 15 leaves
  • Sugar - 6 Tbsps.
  • Ginger - 1 Tbsp.
  • Sabja Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Water - 1/4th Cup
  • Salt - 1 Tsp.
  • Black Salt - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Lemon Juice - 3 Lemons For 3 Glass of water

Preparation:

  • In a bowl add sabja seeds and water.
  • Mix well and soak in water for about a minimum of 30 minutes.
  • Then in a blender add mint, sugar, and ginger and blend.
  • Now add this to a bowl and add lemon juice and soaked sabja seeds.
  • Mix well and serve chill.
