It Have Many Different Names Like Vine Spinach, Red Vine Spinach, Creeping Spinach, Bachali Kura Etc.Basella Alba Is Fast Growing Leaf Vegetable in Hot Sun, Humid Climate.


They Are 2 Varieties Of  Malabar Spinach i.e Red And Green. Basella Alba Is The Name Given Tp Green Stem Malabar Spinach Where As Basella Rubra Is The Name Given To Reddish purple Stem Malabar Spinach.check out the Two Varieties Of Malabar Spinach.

Malabar Spinach Are Very High In Vitamin C, Iron, Vitamin A, And Calcium. It Is Low In Calories But High In Protein per Calorie. What Ever The Malabar Spinach Is Either Green or Red Both Have The Equal Nutritional Value.

In This Post Am Sharing Red Malabar Spinach Prepared With Curd. This Is A Nice Combination When Spinach Mixed With Curd / Yogurt, And It Is Very Healthy And Reduces Body Temperature.

For This Clean And Chop The Malabar Spinach Into Small. Then For Tempering, I Added Tomatoes And Ginger Garlic Paste, Green Chillies, And Onions.

Video Recipe Of Malabar Spinach Curry | Bachali Kura Perugu



Ingredients:

  • Malabar Spinach - 2 Bunches
  • Oil - 3 Tbsps.
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
  • Green Chillies - 3 Chopped
  • Onion - 1 Big Chopped
  • Curry Leaves 
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Turmeric powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Tomatoes - 3 Big Chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder -1 Tsp.
  • Curd - 180 g
  • Coriander Leaves

Preparation:

  • In Pan Add Oil.
  • Add Mustard Seeds, Cumin Seeds And Green Chillies.
  • Saute For About 1 Minute.
  • Then Add Onions With Salt And Saute For About 2 Minutes.
  • Then Add Curry Leaves, Turmeric Powder And Ginger Garlic Paste.
  • Saute Till Ginger Garlic Paste Leaves Raw Smell.
  • Then Add Tomatoes With Red Chilli Powder .
  • Saute Well Till Tomatoes Becomes Soft And Mushy.
  • Then Add Malabar Spinach With Kasoori Methi, Cumin And Coriander Powder.
  • Mix Well Close And Cook Till Spinach Becomes Soft.
  • Then Add Curd And Mix Well.
  • Cook For About 2 Minutes And Add Chopped Coriander Leaves And Mix Well.
  • Serve Hot For Roti / Chapathi/ Plain Rice.

  • Mix Well Close And Cook Till Spinach Becomes Soft.




  • Then Add Curd And Mix Well.


  • Cook For About 2 Minutes And Add Chopped Coriander Leaves And Mix Well.



  • Serve Hot For Roti / Chapathi/ Plain Rice.

Notes:

  • Clean And Chop The Malabar Spinach Very Finely.
  • After Adding Curd Or Yogurt Immediately Mix And Off The Flame.If Not Off The Flame Then Add Curd.
  • Spices As Per Once Taste.
