Malabar Spinach Pakora Or Bachaliaaku Bajji - is one of the crispy evening snacks with a hot cup of tea.
A deep-fried crispy Malabar spinach fritter Or Pakora Or Bajji is one of the perfect snacks to be had with a cup of hot tea. Malabar spinach bajji is a delicious and healthy snack to make. It's perfectly crispy from outside and is the best tea time treat. This will the best recipe for your kids and even some of the adults who don't like spinach, tend to give at the sight of spinach.
Malabar spinach is high in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Iron, and calcium. Another good reason to eat Malabar spinach is that it has a good amount of antioxidants, particularly beta carotene and lutein, those naturally occurring chemicals that help keep your cells from aging.
Today I am sharing the Basella Rubra bajji i.e reddish-purple stem Malabar spinach bajji. These protein-rich, vibrant green have very thick in texture and easy to make bajji.

Video Recipe Of Malabar Spinach Bajji
Ingredients:
- Malabar Spinach Leaves - 20
- Crushed Garlic - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Crushed Ginger - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsp.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
- Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
- Ajwain - 1 Tsp.
- Coriander Leaves - 3 Tbsps.
- Curry Leaves - 2 Tbsps.
- Gram Flour - 1 Cup
- Rice Flour - 1/4th Cup
- Oil - As Required for Deep Fry
- Water - 1 Cup Or As Required
Preparation:
- In a bowl add besan, rice flour along with red chili powder, crushed garlic, crushed ginger, salt, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, ajwain, coriander leaves, curry leaves and water.
- Mix well to the thick batter.
- Dip the leaf into the batter and drop slowly into the hot oil.
- Deep fry till the bajji turns golden brown and crispy.
- Remove and serve hot with coconut chutney or with a sip of hot tea.
