Ingredients:
Pressure Cooked Palak Dal
- Palak / Spinach - 8 Bunches
- Toor Dal - 1.5 Cups
- Green Chillies - 8
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
- Oil - 1 Tbsp.
- Water - 3 Cups
Cooking Palak Dal:
- Oil - 4 Tbsp.
- Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp.
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
- Dry Red Chillies - 3
- Onions - 2 Medium Size
- Salt - 1 Tsp.
- Curry Leaves
- Crushed Garlic - 1 Tbsp.
- Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
- Tamarind Juice - 2 Cups
- coriander Leaves
Preparation:
Cooking SPinach and Dal:
- In a pressure cooker add spinach, dal, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt, water, and turmeric powder.
- Mix well and pressure cook for about 3 whistles.
Cooking Spinach Dal:
- In pan oil, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, dry red chilies, onions with salt.
- Mix well and saute.
- Then add curry leaves, crushed garlic, and turmeric powder.
- Mix well and saute well till it releases a nice aroma.
- Then add extracted tamarind juice and bring to boil.
- Then add cooked dal and mix well.
- close and simmer for 10 minutes
- Finally, add fresh coriander leaves and mix well.
- Serve hot with steamed rice and ghee.
