Pepper chicken can be of two types, one is dry pepper chicken and another is pepper chicken gravy. This post is about dry pepper chicken marinated with lemon juice, turmeric, and ginger garlic paste. It served best with tomato chaaru, rasam, or roti even with plain rice.

Ingredients:
- Chicken - 500g
- Lemon Juice - 1 1/2 Tbsps.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
- Salt - 1 Tsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
- Oil - 6 Tbsp.
- Cloves - 8
- Cardamom - 5
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp
- Shahjeera - 1 Tsp
- Cinnamon - 1 Inch
- Crushed Pepper - 1 Tsp.
- Onions - 5 Big
- Salt - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Green Chillies - 4
- Dry Coconut Powder - 1/2 Cup
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
- Pepper Powder - 1/2 Tbsps+1 Tsp.
- Curry Leaves
- Coriander Powder - 1 Tsp.
- Kasoori Methi - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
- Coriander Leaves
- In a bowl, add cleaned, salt water-soaked chicken.
- Then add lemon juice, salt, turmeric powder, and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- Close and marinated for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- In a pan add oil, along with cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, shahjeera, cumin seeds, and crushed pepper.
- Mix well and saute for about 1 minute.
- Then add onions along with salt and mix well.
- Saute well till it changes color.
- Then add green chilies along with dry coconut powder.
- Mix well and saute till it releases aroma then add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder.
- Mix well and saute till it releases aroma then add the marinated chicken along with pepper powder.
- Mix well and saute till it changes color then close and cook for about 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, the chicken leaves the water, mix well then add coriander powder, kasoori methi, pepper powder and mix well and cook till the chicken is soft and tender.
- Finally, add garam masala and coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato charu and roti.
