Fish is one of the most delicate and healthy meats in non-vegetarian cuisine. We Indians consider fish to be a delicacy and love to eat it whenever it is available. It tastes delicious all the way it is prepared. They are many different varieties to prepare fish curry but the best way to prepare the fish curry is with the ingredients like coconut, tamarind combination, or fried onion-tamarind combination.
For any fish dish, first, the fish is to be cleaned thoroughly with salt, turmeric powder, and rice flour. Then soak the fish in salt water for about 15 minutes, then marinate the fish and rest it for 30 minutes to 1 hour for tasty and juicy fish. Then the fish masala is to be prepared. Freshly grounded fish masala gives a more heavenly taste than readymade masala. So it's effortless to prepare the fish masala for this recipe. For this recipe blend the ingredients like dry coconut. cloves. cardamom, cinnamon, shahi jeera, cumin seeds, garlic cloves, and tamarind. Blend to smooth paste and add the masala when required. Most of the fish curries are prepared by adding tamarind. The sourness of tamarind makes the fish more flavourful, making your mouth water.

Ingredients:
- Fish - 500 g Approximate 8 pieces
Marination Ingredients:
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 Tbsps.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Salt - 1 Tsp.
Fish Masala Ingredients:
- Dry Coconut - 50 g
- Garlic Cloves - 4
- Soaked Tamarind - Lemon Size
- Shahi jeera - 1 Tsp.
- Cloves - 5
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon - 1 Inch
- Cumin Seeds - 1 Tsp.
Cooking Fish Curry Ingredients:
- Oil - 4 Tbsps.
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon - 1 Inch
- Cloves - 4
- Shahjeera - 1/2 Tsp.
- Crushed Onion - 1/2 Cup Or 1 Big
- Salt - As Required
- Green Chillies - 6
- Curry Leaves
- Kasoori Methi - 1 Tbsp.
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1/2 Tbsp.
- Tomato Puree - 6 Tomatoes
- Red Chilli Powder - 1 1/2 Tbsps.
- Water - 1/2 Cup
Preparation:
Marination Preparation:
- Firstly clean the fish pieces very thoroughly with rice flour. turmeric and salt.
- Then add red chilies powder, turmeric powder, salt, and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- Mix and marinate at least for 30 minutes.
Fish Masala Preparation:
- In blended add dry coconut, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, garlic cloves, shahjeera, and soaked tamarind.
- Blend to smooth paste and keep aside. ( Note: Add water if required to make the paste)
Cooking Fish Curry Preparation:
- In the pan add oil, then add crushed cardamom, cinnamon, shahjeera, cloves, and crushed onions along with salt.
- Mix well and saute till the onions turn a brown color.
- Then add green chilies, curry leaves, turmeric powder, and ginger garlic paste.
- Mix well and saute till it releases aroma.
- Then add fish masala and mix well.
- Mix till it releases aroma.
- Then add tomato puree along with red chili powder and mix well till the tomatoes remove the raw smell and become thick.
- Then add water and mix well.
- After mixing well add marinated fish along with green chilies and curry leaves.
- Mix and close and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes, open and slowly mix.
- Again close and simmer for more 10 minutes.
- After 10 minutes simple, tasty, and aromatic fish curry is ready to serve with plain rice, roti, and rasam.
