The tangy and spicy chili chicken is one of the most popular Indo-Chinese style chicken starter that is served in Chinese restaurants across the globe.It typically consists of marinated pieces of chicken, seasoned with ginger, garlic, vinegar, soya sauce and chilli sauce.This sauces add a rich flavor and heat to the dish.But its not mandatory that every household have all the chinese sauces.Today checkout the chilli chicken done by using purely Indian spices and herbs.



Indian-style chili chicken without sauces is a variant of the popular Indo-Chinese dish that excludes the use of traditional Chinese sauces like soya sauce, chili sauce, and vinegar. Instead, it relies on a blend of Indian spices to create a flavorful and aromatic dish. The dish typically features marinated pieces of chicken combined with Indian spices such as ginger garlic paste, turmeric, salt, and yogurt to tenderize and add flavor to the chicken. Indian-style chili chicken tends to be spicy, as it relies on freshly blended green chilies for heat, curry leaves for aroma, and spices like cumin, coriander, and garam masala powder for taste.

Ingredients:

Marination Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 500 g
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 1/2 Tsps.
  • Oil - 1 Tbsp.
  • Curd - 180 g
  • Salt

Chilli Paste Ingredients:

  • Light Green Chillies - 50 g
  • Water - 1/2 Cup

Chilli Chicken Ingredients:

  • Oil - 4 to 5 Tbsps.
  • Shahjeera - 1 Tsp.
  • Onions - 2 Big Chopped
  • Curry Leaves
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Kasoori Methi - 1 1/2 Tsps.
  • Coriander Powder - 2 Tsps.
  • Cumin Powder - 1/2 Tsp.
  • Garam Masala Powder - 2 Tsps.
  • Coriander Leaves.

Preparation:

Marination Preparation:

  • Clean Chicken .
  • Then Add All The Marinate Ingredients And Keep Aside Atleast For 1 Hour / Overnight.

Chilli Paste Preparation:

  • In Blender Add Green Chillies With Water And Make Fine Smooth Paste And Keep Aside.

Chilli Chicken Preparation:

  • In Pan Add Oil.
  • When Oil Gets Heated Up Add Shahjeera.
  • When Shahjeera Splutter Add Onions With Salt.
  • Saute For About 2 Minutes.
  • Then Add Green Chilli Paste And Mix Well.
  • Saute For About 3 Minutes.
  • Then Add Curry Leaves, Ginger Garlic Paste & Turmeric Powder And Mix Well.
  • Saute Till All The Water Present In Green Chilli Paste Disappears.
  • Then Add Marinated Chicken And Mix Well.
  • Close And Cook For About 10 Minutes.
  • Chicken Releases Water.
  • Mix Well And Close And Cook Till Chicken Is Cooked Well And All The Water Disappears.
  • Then Add Kasoori Methi, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder And Garam Masala Powder And Mix Well.
  • Again Close And Simmer For About 10 Minutes.
  • Finally Add Coriander Leaves And Serve Hot.

  • Then Add Marinated Chicken And Mix Well.


  • Close And Cook For About 10 Minutes.

  • Chicken Releases Water.

  • Mix Well And Close And Cook Till Chicken Is Cooked Well And All The Water Disappears.


  • Then Add Kasoori Methi, Coriander Powder, Cumin Powder And Garam Masala Powder And Mix Well.







  • Again Close And Simmer For About 10 Minutes.


  • Finally Add Coriander Leaves And Serve Hot.
