Shahi White Chicken Recipe - with detail photo and video recipe.Why always red colored chicken curry? Try this rich, spicy and delicious gravy white chicken korma and satisfy your appetite.

Usually, this white chicken is done by blending the badam, cashew, dry coconut green chilies and water. Blend everything to a fine paste and added to cleaned chicken along with lemon juice, Marinate in the fridge at least for 1 hour or overnight.

In this recipe we are not using red chili powder instead we added pepper powder and green chilies for spiciness.
White chicken curry is the rich, spicy and creamy gravy with the mild combination of tastes.This Curry goes well either with plain rice or even with chapathi, roti etc.

Ingredients:

Masala Ingredients:

  • Almonds - 12
  • Cashews - 10
  • Dry Coconut - 20 g
  • Poppy Seeds - 1 1/2 Tbsps
  • Green Chillies - 75 g
  • Garlic Cloves - 5
  • Water - 1/4th Cup

Chicken Marination Ingredients:

  • Chicken - 500 g
  • Blended Masala Ingredients Paste
  • Lemon Juice
  • Pepper Powder
  • Salt
  • Curd / Yogurt - 150 g

White Chicken Cooking Ingredients:

  • Oil - 4 Tbsps.
  • Bay Leaves - 2
  • Dagad Phool 
  • Star Anise - 1
  • Dry Red Chillies -2
  • Crushed Cloves - 5
  • Crushed Cardamom - 2
  • Chopped Onions - 1 Big
  • Salt - As Required
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 Tbsp.
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Mint Leaves - 1/2 Bunch
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Cumin Powder - 1/4th Tsp.
  • Coriander Seeds Powder - 1 Tsp.
  • Kasoori Methi Powder - 1/4 Tsp.
  • Coriander Leaves - Few

Tempering Ingredients:

  • Oil - 2 Tbsps.
  • Ginger Julien - 2 Tbsps.
  • Curry Leaves - Few
  • Kasoori Methi - 1 Tbsp.

Preparation:

  • In Blender add almonds, cashews, dry coconut, and poppy seeds 
  • Blend to a fine powder.
  • Then add chopped green chilies along with garlic cloves, and water.
  • Blend to a fine paste and keep aside.
  • Now take a clean chicken and add blended masala along with lemon juice, salt and mix well.
  • Marinate it at least for 1 hour or overnight.
  • Now in a pan add oil.
  • Add bay leaves, dagad phool, crushed cloves, and crushed cardamom.
  • Then add chopped onions along with salt and mix well.
  • Mix well till onions turns light brown color then add curry leaves and mint leaves.
  • Mix well till the mint leaves releases nice aroma.
  • Then add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Mix well til ginger garlic paste releases a nice aroma.
  • Then add marinated chicken mix well.
  • close and cook for about 10 minutes.
  • After 10 minutes chicken releases water, mix well and add water along with garam masala powder, cumin powder, and coriander powder.
  • Mix well, then close and cook for about 15 minutes or till chicken is cooked well.
  • In the meantime, in pan add oil, then add ginger Julien, curry leaves and kasoori methi leaves and mix well.
  • When everything is cooked well add this to cooked chicken and mix well.
  • Mix, close and simmer for more 5 minutes.
  • Finally, add chopped coriander and mix well.
  • That's it shahi white chicken curry to ready to serve either with roti or with plain rice.
